Meet Opal: A Sweet Cairn Terrier Learning the Ropes of Home Life
***Opal is a chill, quiet, shy girl who thrives with routine, structure, and being near her people.***
Opal is a purebred Cairn Terrier who has recently retired from a commercial breeding facility and is now seeking a loving forever home. Because she is still learning the ropes of living indoors (including house training), Opal will do best in a home where someone is around much of the day, or where family schedules allow her to stay on a consistent routine and potty schedule.
Opal is shy and can be frightened by loud noises and sudden movements, so a calm environment will help her gain confidence. She is not yet bold enough to walk or potty while on a leash, so a securely fenced yard is required.
What Opal Loves:
Opal enjoys being part of a pack and included in family activities. She is thriving with routine and structure, but being nearby is what she wants most. She loves squeaky toys (more than hard-material toys) and will happily wear them out.
The Right Home for Opal:
• Calm home environment (quiet, predictable routine)
• Someone home a lot / rotating schedules to maintain a consistent potty routine
• Securely fenced yard required (no invisible/underground fencing)
• Resident dog required for companionship and to model confident canine behavior
• Patience and gentle encouragement while she continues to build confidence
